Summer Dance Intensive


Ballet British Columbia's 2008 Summer Dance Intensive will run August 5 - 22 at the Scotiabank Dance Centre. This summer we are delighted to welcome students from around the globe to our senior pre-professional training program. Under artistic director John Alleyne, an exceptional faculty of national and international guest teachers compliment the summer intensive, which is designed to develop well-rounded, versatile dancers through exposure to a range of styles with a strong focus on classical ballet and contemporary ballet repertoire.

To audition in person - Saturday, April 26, 11:30 - 1:30 pm
Ballet BC will be holding auditions at Ballet BC Studios in Vancouver on Saturday, April 26, 2008. Please download your registration form and fax back to Ballet BC with a $25 (non-refundable) registration fee.

To audition by mail
Audition DVD submissions are required in advance, and must arrive no later than Friday, April 25, 2008.

The 10-minute audition tape should include: a short ballet barre and centre practice with a one-to-two minute variation in classical or contemporary ballet, and should be accompanied by a registration form and a nonrefundable $25 registration fee. Cheques and Money Orders should be made payable to Ballet British Columbia.

The Summer Dance Intensive will culminate in a performance at the end August in the Faris Family Theatre at the Scotiabank Dance Centre. The performancewill include excerpts from Ballet BCs repertoire.
