2013 Spring Fundraising Campaign
Ballet BC is pleased to announce the launch of its 2013 Spring Campaign.
Last year, we successfully raised over $380,000, an important demonstration of the continuing support that Ballet BC enjoys in Vancouver and beyond. This success further consolidates Ballet BCs dramatic and highly successful re-emergence and financial stabilization. In addition to the Companys own productions, in the 2012/2013 season Ballet BC is presenting two guest companies, premiering one full length ballet, as well as creating two new mixed bill evenings by Canadian and international artists known for their distinctive voices.
With your support, this year we are looking to raise over $390,000 to continue engaging the community through outreach programs, including our Resident Choreographer position, Artist in Residence initiative, Company apprenticeships, Student Dress Rehearsals, Summer Dance Intensive in collaboration with the Arts Umbrella Dance Program, as well as the popular Choreographic Workshops, Pre-show Chats and Artist Salons.
As always, new work is at the heart of Ballet BCs performances with a repertory that is truly unparalleled in its breadth and diversity. With a roster of stellar dancers, Artistic Director Emily Molnar continues to lead the Company towards an innovative future for contemporary ballet in the new millennium.
Furthermore, the funds raised through the Spring Campaign will be used to enable the creation of innovative new works for Ballet BCs 2013-14 Vancouver season. In addition to performances at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Company will be touring in the spring of 2013 to the US and Eastern Canada, including performances at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, the White Bird Festival in Portland, Oregon and the prestigious Jacobs Pillow Festival in Beckett, Massachusetts.
